The 12th Annual Dances With Films festival will take place June 4th through 11th at Laemmle's Sunset 5 on Sunset Boulevard.
Last year Zenfilm brought home the DWF Audience Choice Award for Best Music Video for Southern Backtones
"Forever". This year the festival has made Music Video a juried competition category and will screen music video selections as part of every screening from June 4th to 11th.
Both projects were directed by Zen's W. Ross Wells and produced by Merideth Melville and Jarrod Gullett.
Southern Backtones
"Slumber Party" produced for
Rat Pak Records was filmed on location outside of Langry, TX and at historic SugarHill Recording Studios in Houston. It was lensed by Cinematographer Wayne Forster and Southern Backtones' own Hank Schyma.
Jennifer Grassman's
"Pretty Girls" is from Jenn's first album "At the Back of the North Wind." It was produced for TLM productions and has done well at other festivals. Elements of "Pretty Girls" were also filmed at SugarHill Studios and on the nearly 200-year-old Briscoe Ranch in Richmond, TX. Cinematographers Raul Casares (Briscoe Ranch Unit) and Wayne Forster (SugarHill Studios Unit) created the stunning imagery. Earlier this year "Pretty Girls" was awarded a Gold Remi at
WorldFest Houston.
