If anyone has a photo of Steve, can you send to lou@stanandlou.com? Thanks. We would like to post it with his article.

Lou

I wanted to send you some pictures of Steve.  Thank you all of your kind words.  My husband was my best friend  and the best father any child could hope for.  This was to be his last venue on the cops show.  My heart aches and I miss him so badly.  Reading these comments from his friends brings comfort knowing he was so loved.

Thanks, Kelly Malito

Steve was my father. He was such a wonderful person. I miss him so much. We have so many great memories of time spent with him. He was the best Grandpa to my daughter, his grandaughter Mia. His sudden passing is still shocking. I will just remember all the good times we all had together! I love you Steve! You will forever be in my heart. I miss you!! Love you always, Ash

I'm still in shock Steve...your sudden departure is going to hurt for a long time. I'm going to miss your humor, your good and bad attitudes, your laughter, your BS, your professionalism, your safety, your wild side, your music, your rants, your love for family, your enthusiasm, and most of all your character. I know that the very same things we all miss about you, will be the same things that will keep laughter with us in our lives. I can hear you right now...laughing, joking, and then suddenly getting serious. Big Mike, stop moving my shade around! We hit it off immediately, and I thought those first three cities we worked were some of my best times on the show. Then here we were 3 years later like we hadn't missed a day or a beat. I'm proud to have spent the last three weeks with a true friend. You and Tommy are two of the greatest I'll ever know. You'll ride with me until the day I die brother, and the music will never stop. I'm sure I'll be smiling everytime I hear something you might have enjoyed. I'm blessed that I was fortunate to know you as such a great friend, and such a great man. My heart goes out to your family...you loved them so much & were so proud of all of them. My phone is always on for Stevie stories. I think we've all shared something with Steve that will forever be laughter. I'll see you in the next one Steve...

I've never beem closer to any human than I was with Steve. We grew up in a hellacious part of Memphis, and Steve was a touchstone for everything good the world had to offer. Steve's ultra-refined taste in music was light years ahead of anyone I knew, maybe with the exception of Rodney, who's left a message heare as well. So much love, brother. Forever. I'll see you soon.

I am one of Steve's daughters. I have so many great memories of time spent with him, but most of my favorites are from our fun family vacations together. We went to Disneyworld a couple of summers ago and just this past summer before he went to Vegas I was able to go down to Galveston for the weekend with him, my mom, and little Stevie. We had such a wonderful time. Steve always knew how to make people laugh and he was just an all around good friend and a GREAT father. I was really looking forward to the day when he would walk me down the aisle. I was already trying to pick out a perfect song for our first dance together. I am really sad that Steve-o's life ended so quickly, but I guess God has a different plan for him. I love him so much and I miss him more and more with each day that passes. May he rest in peace. I love you Steve-o. Love always, Rach

I grew up with Steve here in Memphis in the early 70's. Without a doubt one of the best guys I've ever known. My life is much better having known him. We just reconnected last year after not seeing each other since 1973. All around...just a genuinely good soul with a great sense of humor and a deep love for family. Rest in peace my brother. God bless you and your family, Andy Tanas

STEVE MALITO WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIENDS I EVER HAD. STEVE WAS MY FIRST ROOM MATE HERE IN MEMPHIS AND WE BOTH WORKED TOGETHER AT MOTION PICTURE LABS WHERE STEVE WAS TRAINED AS A SOUND TECHNICIAN. STEVE'S TWO GREATEST PASSIONS IN LIVE WERE HIS FAMILY AND HIS MUSIC. STEVE IS SURVIVIED BY HIS WIFE, KELLY OF 19 YEARS AND HAS TWO DAUGHTERS, ASHLEY AND RACHEL AND A BOY, STEVE. HE ALSO HAS A DAUGHTER FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE, LISA MARIE. I SPOKE TO STEVE ON THE AFTERNOON OF HIS PASSING AND HE WAS HAPPY, IN GOOD SPIRITS, AND LAUGHING. STEVE WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND A FABULOUS FATHER. HE IS MISSED DEARLY BY ALL WHO KNOW HIM AND LOVE HIM.

I worked with Steve for 9 years. We both did COPS and his passing is a shock to us all. Steve was much loved by the crew and staff of the show and we'll never get over his loss. A trust fund for his family is being organized and we'll let others know about this when it happens. Goodbye Steve. You will not be forgotten.
