Competitive Intelligence - How to Use It to Improve
Your Company's Bottom Line

Know your Competitors
In difficult economic times, companies take a more careful look at the things they do well and focus on their core capabilities. Resources tighten up, and competitive issues become even more critical. Getting a good scouting report makes all the difference in the sports world, but in many organizations, understanding their strategic risk in a competitive business environment gets very little attention.

In this workshop, you will learn about competitive intelligence and how to use it to improve your company's competitive results. You'll walk out with an action plan based on your own needs, designed to help your company compete more effectively.

This workshop is for professionals who want to help their company improve their bottom line by teaching them:
  • What is competitive intelligence and how is it used?
  • What do we need and where do we get it?
  • What does it mean and how does it fit into my organization?
  • What type of competitive intelligence gathering is unethical or even illegal?

Speaker
Mark Johnson, Principal of Vector Group Services, a consultancy offering custom Competitive Intelligence, CI Training and marketing analysis solutions. Mark received his Bachelor's and Master's of Economics from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and took post-graduate studies in economics at St. Louis University.

Mark has developed competitive analysis, forecasting, and marketing analysis for a variety of industries. He has been involved in competitive intelligence for over ten years with a wide variety of companies, including Southwestern Bell Telephone (now AT&T), MetaSolv Software, Blockbuster, TXU Energy, and Flowserve Corporation. He has been the Chairman of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals for several years.
